Beacon Management Services Welcomes New Employees as Company Growth Fuels Expansion

Beacon Management Services is pleased to announce the recent addition of three new employees at its corporate office.  Haya Whitsett joined as a Community Association Manager; Erica Walker was added to the Client Services department, and Marlon Byrd joined the Mobile Maintenance Services Division.    The newly hired employees will work at Beacon’s headquarters located in the heart of the central Perimeter market at Two Premier Plaza, 5607 Glenridge Drive, Suite 490, Atlanta, GA  30342.

Tiffany “Haya” Whitsett, CAM, brings years of business experience to Beacon, most recently as an onsite and portfolio association manager with another company where she oversaw multiple accounts, large capital improvement projects, and concierge staff members.   Haya graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Georgia State University, and later obtained a Master’s degree in Mental Health.   She will oversee a portfolio of major community associations throughout metro Atlanta.

Erica Walker, CAM, joins the expanding customer service team as a Client Services Representative.  She has over 15 years’ experience in sales, marketing and customer service for professional service organizations.  Erica was also recognized as one of the top performing leasing consultants for CF Lane LLC, one of Georgia’s largest owners of multifamily developments.

Marlon Byrd is an EPA certified maintenance professional with over 15 years of progressive experience in the real estate industry.  He served as the Chief Building Engineer for a major Buckhead high rise condominium and as the Maintenance Supervisor for several commercial properties prior to joining Beacon.  Marlon will help lead the Mobile Maintenance Services Division which provides comprehensive maintenance solutions to handle basic property repair requests to larger scale projects.

Beacon Management Hires Senior Accounting Manager for Major Accounts and Special Projects

July 18, 2016 – (Atlanta)    Beacon Management Services announced today that it hired Thomas (Tom) Donnelly as a Senior Accounting Manager.   He will be responsible for Beacon’s major accounts, client budgets and special projects that require senior level financial expertise.

Tom has a rich history in real estate related companies, including BVT Management Services based in Munich, Germany, Suntrust Bank’s Corporate Real Estate Group, Equitable Real Estate and Julian LeCraw & Company.   Tom started his career as an auditor for Price Waterhouse.  Tom holds a BBA in accounting and finance from the University of Georgia, Terry School of Business and a BBA in Accounting from Kennesaw State University.

A Beautiful Good Bye

 

Beacon Management employee, Sarah Hatfield, said good bye to the Windsor Over Peachtree condominium where she was the beloved assistant manager.   Fans of Ms. Hatfield attended a going away party in her honor and even created this touching video tribute to the young lady who served them graciously for two years.  Sarah moves to a new challenge in her upwardly mobile career as the Executive Administrator reporting to CEO, Steve Weibel, at the Beacon corporate office.  Thank you Windsor residents and congratulations Sarah!

Beacon Management Services was a sponsor of this year’s CAI black tie gala, a wonderful event that captured the spirit of a French Masquerade ball in the historic, and elegant, Biltmore Hotel.    Guests enjoyed the novelty of the strolling “Champagne Lady”, whose hoop skirt held flutes of delicious French bubbly.   Beacon used the event to announce its upcoming move to new commercial office space on the Perimeter at GA 400 and I-285!

How Beacon Management and Master’s Champ, Jordan Spieth, Are Alike.

Who wasn’t impressed by Jordan Spieth’s incredible victory at the 2015 Masters?   Spieth, a relative unknown in the field prior to the four-day tournament, took the golf world by storm  with his impressive win over the legends – Micholson, Woods, McIlroy and the like.  Spieth’s Masters win was his first major golf tournament victory. In doing so, he became the second youngest Masters champion ever behind Tiger Woods.

Jordan Spieth’s incredible Masters victory on Sunday not only resoundingly announced the arrival of golf’s newest young gun, it also highlighted the bitter rivalry of two of the world’s biggest sports apparel makers, Under Armour and Nike.    Throughout the four-day tournament at the storied Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia, the 21-year-old Spieth was clad head to toe in logos for Under Armour, which had originally signed him in 2013 before he was known to the world.

It struck me that the Atlanta community association industry is not unlike this story.   On one hand, you have the firmly entrenched “old guard” – management companies that have been around for years.  And on the other, you have newer brands like Beacon Management Services, whose name may not be as familiar to some, yet have competed and won against many of Atlanta’s biggest players. *  In fact, our business has grown almost 25% in the last six months on word of mouth alone.

Jordan Spieth proved that yesterday’s winners may not be on the leader board today and that resting on one’s laurels does not produce champions.

2015 will continue to be a transformational year for Jordan Spieth and for Beacon Management Services.  Much like Under Armour and Spieth, Beacon is just getting started.
